This weekend was enjoyable. We had surprise visitors on Saturday and Sunday was pretty low key. We watched movies, took naps, played, colored, watched basketball, and of course had some fun coloring Easter eggs. It was the perfect simple, unplanned weekend.
With Easter right around the corner, Sullivan has been begging us to take him to Grandma's house. Little does he know we will be spending a lot of time up north in the next month. So I attempted to change his constant asking of "can we go to Grandma's house," into a learning project. We made a countdown until this weekend. Unfortunately it back fired a little because he wanted to rip off all the chains off at ones, he also thought Grandma was coming here, and now he asks if we are going to Grandma's almost double what he did before our little learning project.
We also spent our Sunday morning dying some eggs. It was super fun and everyone had a great time. I just wished I would have boiled more eggs.
With another month down, a quarter of a year gone already, and Easter next weekend- it's going to be a busy week for us. Here's hoping it goes fast!

Spring, are you here?
We've officially entered into spring, well that's what the calendar says any ways. I would say spring is currently on Spring Break already.
Last week we had beautiful spring weather and love it! Sullivan loved playing outside at Amy's during the day and we were already getting into a routine of bribing him to come in at night. This little boy is such an outdoor lover, unlike his mother that doesn't care too much for hot, humid weather, bugs and critters. All set aside, we took advantage of the nice weather last week and made spring official by checking out our first park for the year. Sullivan was so excited to go out of our normal routine last Friday. Instead of going home after work, letting him play outside for a couple of minutes and then dragging him indoors so I could make supper- we went to a cute park close to college hill. Sullivan was so excited and tested out everything there, several times.
Now, fast forward to last Sunday and this week and we've had cold weather, freezing rain and back home by Decorah, lots of snow. We even had to pull out the winter jacket one day. But this coming week looks promising with temps in the 60s and even a day scheduled to be in the 70s. Let hope the ground dries up and warm weather is here by Easter. I'd love for the kids' Easter egg hunt to be outside this year.
I think everyone is wishing for spring to stay!

Skip Day
A few weeks ago, I decided to surprise Sullivan by taking the day off of work. I think Sullivan's getting cabin fever with the cold weather and being cooped up for so long. For a while, every morning on the way to Amy he would ask if we were going to see Grandma or Auntie "Sisi."
So a few Fridays ago we got up at our normal time for work and daycare, and headed out. This time rather than traveling down Hudson Road we headed north to my sister's house. Sullivan quickly realized this wasn't our normal route so I sprung the news on him that we were on our way to have some fun. A quick stop at papa's shop to say hi and grab some popcorn and by 9:30 am we were at my sister's house to spend the day with her and her boys. Our mission that day was to have fun by going to the children's museum in LaCrosse, WI.
We've taken the boys before and they've had a blast. This trip didn't disappoint either. We were on the road and by 11:30 we arrived in LaCrosse for a quick lunch and then hours to play. I would highly recommend this place to anyone with children big or small. They have activities and play stations for all age, plus they change some of them up so it's not the same thing over and over again.
Some of Sullivan's favorites from this trip include the real fire truck, suction tunnel wall and the water stations.
