Future Golfer??

Sullivan received a plastic golf set from dear friends of ours Butter & Robin. Mike went to school with Butter (Troy) and they've been friends ever since. In fact they were each others' best man in their weddings. Butter and Robin are also huge golfers, so it's only fitting for them to give our little boy his first set of clubs.

Sullivan loves them and as you will see in the video, he is quite good at hitting the ball. He just tends to go a little over board making sure the ball moves. What your self when you see him with his clubs, he may just "club" you.

Fall is coming, Fall is coming!

I've been loving these cooler temps lately. Although I don't think summer is quite over yet, we are seeing more cooler temps then hot ones. This past weekend was perfect. We had great temperatures, rain which we've needed so bad, and football and farmers market.

Sullivan and I had a special treat this weekend. Mike has been busy this summer going to Newbo Market in Cedar Rapids almost every Saturday we don't have something going on. This weekend was a treat because he stayed home to spend it with us AND we had nothing going on! We enjoyed the morning wake up and lounging around, then having breakfast and hitting farmers market. It was a quieter market but we still got some good. Took a stroll on Main Street, then headed to Kohls and Younkers. We got home just in time before Mike's parents came for a visit.

It so great to spend time with family and for Sullivan to see his grandparents. They definitely treated us. Lorimer and Sandy brought us lunch, mums and a Cozy Coupe. Yes, Sullivan is very fond of the Cozy Coupe ever since hanging out at the Merrills'. After he had his afternoon nap, we took it out and let him loose. The verdict: he loves it! I can't even tell you how many times he gone in and out, in and out of the car since receiving it. We had a wonderful time spending time with Lorimer and Sandy. Thanks for coming to visit us!

On Sunday we headed to church, ate lunch took naps, and watched football. Sounds like a pretty perfect fall Sunday. The only thing better would have been chili in the crock pot.

National Grandparents Day

Today is National Grandparents Day. Just like every holiday, today is a day to appreciate something special or in this case people who are special. Sullivan is very blessed to have two wonderful sets of grandparents. Mike's parents and my parent's are very important and have huge roles in Sullivan's life. He wouldn't be the good little boy that he is without his Papas and Grammies.

Happy Grandparents Day to all you wonderful grandparents. You are very important to child as I have great memories of my grandparents from when I was little. You all hold a special place in our hearts.

Someone You Should Know

Last night my dad was featured on our local new station as "Someone you should know." My dad has always been a role model and hero to not only me and my family but many others in Calmar. My dad is known for putting everyone first but himself and going above and beyond to help strangers, people who need help and bettering my hometown of Calmar. In this clip he is recognized for all the beautiful flowers in the town. I can think of many more reasons he should be recognized, but he did great in his interview. I love my dad so much and we are so proud of him. Thank you dad for all you do.....for us and everyone. We love you.
