40 week appointment update

I'm 40 weeks and still pregnant! Ugh, I can't wait to see our little boy and all he wants to do is stay scrunched up inside my belly.

Thursday was our 40 week appointment with an ultrasound. The ultrasound was super fun! He was showing off his chubby little face and making all sorts of faces at us. Smiling, squinting, pouting, swallowing and he even looked like he was chewing. The ultrasound showed he's about 8lbs 4oz, which the doctor says he is no less than 8 pounds if anything he's bigger. Everything else looked normal and healthy.

Even though my body doesn't seem to be progressing, my doctor said I only have a week to go. By the end of next week I should be holding our little boy in my arms! We are so excited to be on the home stretch. We continue to pray that all goes well. Please be thinking of us and praying that my body will either go into labor on it's own or react to the medication used for induction. We hope that things will go as smoothly as possible and that the end result will be a healthy and happy momma and baby.

Here's some pictures of our little guy full term.

As for this weekend, we are tidying up the house and relaxing and enjoying our last weekend as the two of us. Tonight Mike and I went out on a date! One of our favorite restaurants in Cedar Falls is Montage on Main Street. The owner of this restaurant also owns another one of our favorites, Brown Bottle. Mike chose the Texas Brisket and I chose the Chicken Thai Peanut Pasta. Both were amazing! I recommend going there if you are ever in the area. For dessert the owner treated us to s'mores ice cream cake. We loved it and now are sitting at home completely stuffed.

We hope you are all enjoying your weekend and have big plans for the 4th of July. Summer is cruising by and it's hard to believe it's July and our baby boy will be here soon. Stay safe everyone and we will keep you posted!

39 weeks

Well week 38 just flew by and I wasn't able to snap a picture. I did however take this photo on my first day of 39 weeks so it's close.

Mike and I have been waiting, relaxing and waiting until this baby comes. Not much has happened in the last couple of weeks since we didn't know when our little boy will arrive. The house and rooms are ready to go!

Our 40 week doctor's appointment is scheduled for this Thursday will another ultrasound. My doctors have said they will not let me go any later than a week past due so we will find out the game plan. In the meantime, we are enjoying our final days as the two of us. Anxious, nervous and excited we are ready to meet our little boy. I can't wait to hold him in my arms and just look at his beautiful face.

Weekend Projects

Well I thought we'd be done with projects now that the windows are done and the nursery but Mike and I continue to come up with new things to do.

After working my final weekend until I return from maternity leave, HALLELUJAH! I'm so glad I don't have to work another Saturday or Friday night for a while. Mike and I ran errands and then decided what we wanted to do for the rest of the weekend. My project: prepare freezer meals to eat after the baby arrives. Mike's project: paint our little boy a one-of-a-kind painting to add to the nursery walls.

Sunday rolled around all too quick. Mike and I attended church and then our once a month potluck after service. When we got home we each got to work. I managed to make 4 freezer meals, 2 dinners for this week and a quick grab and go breakfast that can be eaten at any time.

Here's my freezer meals. Spaghetti casserole, Chicken pot pie, Pesto chicken stuffed shells and Sausage egg muffins. I doubled the spaghetti casserole and chicken pot pie to eat this week.

I've never made the pesto chicken stuffed shells before but as I was preparing them it smelled so good. I can't wait to try it out!

Mike's been busy work all day sketching and painting. I can't wait to see the finished project. He chose to paint a robot so that our son can take this painting with him as he grows into a little boy. Here's some photos of the artist in action.

Sunday night is coming to an end and it will be Monday before we know it. Off to go enjoy last couple of hours of the weekend. Hope everyone has a great week!

Our new ride!

I forgot to post this but a couple of weeks ago Mike and I got something new! No it's not a car, but it's a stroller for our little one. :)

Lorimer and Sandy gave us a generous Target gift card to purchase the stroller we've had our eyes on. This stroller is pretty cool. You can latch in your car seat carrier or it comes with a removable bassinet. The bassinet can face you or face the direction you are going. It also can recline all the way to lay the baby down or sit up with adjustable foot rest to grow for a toddler. I could go on and on about the great features this stroller has.....can you tell I like to research products online.

Here's a picture of our new ride with our car seat carrier in it.

36 week picture

36 weeks is here!! Only 4 more to go! Well maybe not. :) Here's a picture on my belly. He's getting bigger, pressure is getting stronger, and the waves moving across my belly are fun to watch.

Technically, a baby is full term after 37 weeks, so this little boy can come anytime after that. I'm now going to the doctor weekly and even though my baby is growing I didn't gain any weight this past week. I've been so blessed to have not gained a ton of weight during my pregnancy. I think the total is 11 pounds and by now our little boy weighs almost 6 of those.

Doctor did check to see if my body is starting to get ready. Sadly I'm less than a centimeter but the head is down and right there.

Doctor also said the latest she will let me go in 41 weeks, but I'm hoping and praying for sooner. I've been praying that this little boy comes on his own. I'd love to go into labor without medication. None of my sibling have had that joy and I would love to be the first. In the meantime, we are walking to help him lower and get things moving. We will see if that helps!

35 week appointment

I'm a little behind in posting but..... here's a couple of pictures from our 35 week ultrasound appointment. Doctor said baby boy is doing just fine. I'm actually only a week a head of schedule now, seems his growth spurt has evened out now. At this ultrasound doctor said he weighs 5 1/2 pounds but their measurements go be off a pound give or take.

Seems our little boy is getting squished!

In all three of these pictures look closely in the top left corner. Can you guess what that is? Nope, it's not his hand it's his FOOT! Yes, his foot. He's getting so squished in my tummy that his foot was pressed against his forehead.
