Cravings.....cravings...cravings

Since I have been pregnant I haven't had any weird cravings. Early in my pregnancy I had to have pickles. I would eat almost a jar of them babies a week, but then that faded. Until recently it's fired back up, but with a twist, Virgin Bloody Mary's with pickles!!

Since Mike and I went to Teluwut in Osage to meet Mike's parents for dinner last Friday, I have been hooked. I've been thinking about them for a while and decided to treat myself to one that night. It was sooooo good.

Then on Valentine's Day Mike and I went out to Applebee's for dinner and I had one that night. After that night, I wanted another, so I bought this bottle of bloody mary mix. The brand is Zing Zang and if you like bloody marys this is the brand to get. It's award winning, first place bloody mary mix and I agree.

Now my cravings have been satisfied. I'm having one as I speak write. Mix the bloody mary mix with a little pickle juice and squeeze of a lime. Garnish with a pickle.

Baby has been moving a lot since our ultra sound. Guess since we know the babies a BOY, he's decided to show me his kicking skills. Mike and I are so excited! I already have gotten an outfit too. My wonderful friend Allison, surprised me with a present in the mail. After opening it I almost cried, such a cute baby boy outfit. I'm sure he will love it. Thanks Allison!

Have a great week everyone, I hear it supposed to be nice in Iowa. We'll take it!!

20 weeks!

It's been an exciting week. I am officially half over with my pregnancy! These first 20 weeks went so fast, I can't believe it. The next 20 will be even more exciting. Here's what I'm looking like at 20 weeks....

By now the baby is the size of a banana and weighing in a little under a pound. The baby is also moving more and more each day. At 20 weeks the baby can also hear my voice. It is said I should start talking and singing to the baby to get him/her more familiar with my voice and noises.

Other exciting news this week is my Valentine's Day present. I'm so....so excited!! For my Valentine's Day present, Mike bought my a diaper bag. It may sound strange for a Valentine's Day gift or the fact that I'm so excited about it. But I love this diaper bag. I've been eye it online for weeks and weeks. Here's a look of the beauty.

I have my obsessions about purses so it only seems fitting that my diaper bag be fashionable as well. Plus it's one of my first purchases for the baby.

Next up, Valentine's Day and finding out what this little blessing is....boy or girl. We are so excited and continue to pray that the baby and I stay healthy. We also pray that the baby cooperates on Tuesday so we can find out the sex. Have a great week everyone!

Weekend Recap

Hope you had a great weekend!

My weekend started off working. While I was gone, my wonderful husband kept busy by cleaning the house and doing laundry. I know, I am blessed to have him!!

After I got off work, Mike and I headed to Waterloo to the Public Market. The Public Market is a coop owned by member of the Cedar Valley. Not only can you purchase local made and grown fruits, vegetables, breads, meats and so much more, they also have a deli to eat lunch. I will be back in the summer to see what it has to offer.

After Mike and I made our purchase at the market, we walked across the street to this cute little shop. Plaid Peacock. I was pleased I did! It's a cute boutique that sells local made merchandise such as hats, jewelry, artwork, and soap. I talked with the owner and the store just opened in October. Very unique and I am sure it will be popular when Farmer's Market starts this spring.

My purchase: Fusilli Rigate pasta

Sunday was another eventful day. Church in the morning, then my parents came down to meet us for lunch at Famous Dave's and a little shopping. After they left it was time to settle in to watch the Super Bowl. Mike and I chose to stay at home for the big event. We cuddled in with homemade koolaid slush, Mexican roll ups and a light dinner.

Back to work today. Hoping the week goes fast! Oh and check out my new do. I decided to go with a "mom" cut. :)

11 days to go....

Well I'm 19 weeks, it's already February, aaannnnndd only 11 days to go till Valentine's Day. That means we are getting closer to finding out if baby Nelson is a boy or girl. I'm so excited!!!

Mike and I have been enjoying our time at home. Since the holidays are over we've snuggled in on the weekends and haven't done a whole lot. Last weekend one of my best friends, Heather, came to visit me. I had such a wonderful time seeing her, catching up, doing a little shopping and going out for lunch.

Last night Mike and I went over to my cousin Dave and his wife Lindsey's house. It was time to get together for another dinner party. We were so excited to sit down and eat that I forgot to take pictures of our wonderful meal. The menu was ham, loaded mashed potatoes, and broccoli. Appetizer was bacon wrapped pheasant. Mike and I have never tried pheasant before but we gave it a go and it was delicious! But the shining star of the evening was the dessert. Lindsey made homemade cheesecake and let me tell you, it was the bomb diggaddy!!  BEST CHEESECAKE EVER.

This weekend will go fast. I have to work tomorrow morning and then Mike and I are going to try and go to a public market in Waterloo. Should be fun! Sunday it's church and the Super Bowl. My parents are also thinking of driving down to spend Sunday afternoon with us.

Have a great weekend everyone!
