Back to reality.....

A lot has happened since I last posted. I went back to work part time on the 17th. And Today was my first day back full time. I decided to start back full time early since he's doing so well at daycare. The first day back was worse for me than him.Today, I missed him like crazy but seeing him at 5:25 tonight was the best.

We also got rid of the bassinet and Sullivan is now sleeping in the pack n' play. He's still in our room but the bassinet was getting too small for him. Our little boy is getting taller and taller! At first it was a little difficult for him to get used but each day gets better. We still have our moments, if only that darn pacifier were to just stay in his mouth. Here's a little photo of our baby boy sleeping.

It has definitely been a transition from maternity leave, to part time, to now full time. We will continue to work on a schedule. This week I planned our meals for the work week in hopes that will help our nightly routine. It may only be Monday but I am already looking forward to the weekend.

Lunch Date

Yesterday Sullivan and I had a lunch date at Panera with my friend Heidi and her son William. Mike and I met Heidi and her husband at our lamaze class. We started chatting after we found out that we shared the same due date. When our lamaze class was over, Heidi and I stayed in contact sharing our progress till the end of our pregnancies.

Heidi's son William was born early on June 18th and Sullivan was born late on July 6th making them 18 days apart. We've still been in contact sharing our journeys as first time mommies. Today we met each others little boys for the first time. It was so great getting together with Heidi and talking about all the new things happening in our lives. I hope we can continue to stay in contact and share our experiences.

Here's the boys hanging out, taking naps.

Meet and Greet for Sullivan

On Sunday, my wonderful friend Allison hosted a "Come meet Sullivan" party for our friends. It's been a while since we've all gotten together. It was great catching up with everyone and for everyone to meet Sullivan. We had yummy food and check out this cute punch idea!

My friend Kristi had a baby girl 2 days after Sullivan was born. He may be taller than her, but Miss Kynslee definitely outweighs him.

Another year older

Today I celebrate my 27th birthday. Where has this year gone? It amazes me how much my life has changed since the last year. I have gotten married and had a baby. My 26th year was the best one yet and I can't wait to see what this year will bring.

Sullivan and I hung out all day long. We got lots done and had time to snuggle. This morning we ran errands, made cupcakes for my birthday, made a wonderful supper, gave Sullivan a bath, picked up the house and now I am writing a blog posting. Life is good. I am so blessed to have wonderful family and friends. I also have the best husband ever and the cutest little boy in the world.

Mike spoiled me with flowers and ordering me a personalized charm necklace off of Etsy. I cannot wait for it to arrive. This necklace will have Sullivan's name on it with his birthstone, our last name initial with our anniversary stamped on it, a charm with Mike and I's initials, and a cross. It's perfect!

Farmers Market

Yesterday morning Sullivan and I headed to the Farmers Market. I've been itching to head there on a Saturday morning for a while now and yesterday was the perfect morning. It was a bit chilly out but a gorgeous one at that. We packed up, put the stroller in the trunk and drove downtown. By the time I pulled out of the driveway, Sullivan decided he'd rather take a nap then see what's at the market. Worked just fine for me, I was able to leisurely browse all the vendors.

Here's my loot! I purchased some green beans, sweet corn, a mini apple pie for the hubby and this ADORABLE owl hat for Sullivan. It will be awhile for his little head to fit in it but when he does the camera will be snappin'.

That's one big burger!

On Thursday night, Mike, Sullivan and I headed over to my cousin and his wife's house for dinner. My cousin Dave loves to try new recipes and this one definitely takes the cake. He was going to make a giant 3 pound burger!

The same three couples from our dinner parties were all attending this food experiment. We haven't had time to do dinner parties due to everyone having a busy summer but it's nice for the Moellers to still get us all together.

So here's a picture of the finished product. Presentation is top notch, makes you want a bite, right? The burger turned out pretty good and the meal was wonderful.

Sullivan had a great time at the dinner too. Thanks Allison, for holding him and feeding him!

Weekend Away!

This past weekend, Mike, Sullivan and I packed our bags and headed north to my parents. This was Sullivan's first trip to his grandparents house and our first trip away from Cedar Falls/Waterloo. Sullivan did pretty well with the car ride sleeping most of the way there.

After visiting my friend Heather and her family, we all headed to the Merrill's house for a birthday party. Asher Sam turn 1 on July 5th! My sister decided to wait to have his party until later so Sullivan could join in on the fun. We had such a good time and the food was amazing!

Blowing out Asher's candles!
On Saturday we had the Elsbernd family reunion. My grandma Hackman was an Elsbernd and every couple of years all the families get together. It was great seeing everyone. Sullivan got to meet his second cousin Colin. They are only 3 days apart and initially shared the same due date. Here's a picture of them side by side. As you can see, Sullivan was not happy. Look at that lower lip!

Sullivan meeting Great Grandma Hackman (GG)
We had such a great time at home. Sullivan enjoyed seeing all his aunts, uncles, cousins, and both grandpa and grandma and great grandma (GG) and great grandpa. He had so much fun that he slept the entire way home.

Now on to enjoy my last full week with my baby....

1 month old

Okay so you all are not confused. I took this picture on Sullivan's 1 month birthday and well.....never posted it. I do want it on the blog so I can track his growth and so everyone can see him changing.

At 1 month he's so tiny!

4 weeks old today!

Today Sullivan is 4 weeks old! It seems this past week and a half he's really packing on the pounds. I tried weighing him by putting him on the scale with me and it said he weighed just under 10 pounds. I'm not sure how accurate that really is but I do know he's getting bigger!

We are learning more and more about Sullivan every day. Here's some of Sullivan likes.

1. He loves to sleep with his hands behind his head.

2. Sullivan loves to be naked!

3. He loves when his daddy sings to him, especially Mike's "go to" lullaby song.
4. Loves the outdoors.
5. Loves car rides but never falls asleep.
6. Milk!!
7. He loves to look at the skylights.
8. He loves to kick. (But watch out if he's mad!)
9. He loves going to church. (Two weekends in a row where he's slept the entire service.)

Other things Sullivan is not so fond of:
1. Poopy diapers
2. Being gassy (which is why I can now not have anything dairy)
3. Bath Time
4. The swing

I'm sure the list will change and get longer but for 4 weeks it's not too bad. Can't wait to see what he'll look like in another 4 weeks.

Mini Photo Shoot

My time at home is great. I love being at home with Sullivan and wish I could be a stay at home mom. Reality is that I will be heading back to work soon. So soon in fact that next week is my last full week at home. My maternity leave needs to slow down, I feel Sullivan and I need to more bonding time...

We've been pretty low key on my leave. Staying inside because 1. it's too dang hot out 2. I'm still getting comfortable with breast feeding and 3. Sullivan needs to nap and well when he finally does I want to nap too. When we are not napping or feeding I like to just sit and look at Sullivan. He changes everyday. Most days Mike and I are snapping away at the camera at all his little facial expressions.

The other day I decided to have a mini photo shoot with Sullivan. We have two sky lights in our house that give off amazing lighting during the day. Here's some of the shots I took. Enjoy!
