I can't believe it's July already! The year is half over and soon our little boy Sullivan will be heading off to school again. This 4th of July wasn't your typical hot and humid weather. It was actually decent and in the shade a little cool. The corn was still over knee high and the lightning bugs are our in full force.
We went back home to celebrate with our usual celebration and my brother and sister-in-laws and the annual Festina parade. Only this year instead of craming it into a day or a weekend we had a free day in between all the events. This was a joy and we took advantage of it by venturing around Decorah, swimming in the Calmar pool, spending time with family and great grandparents.
Although we didn't watch any fireworks this year we did test out some sparklers! Sullivan thought they were amazing and I'm sure would have loved them even more if it would have been darker.
